Capture The Dodo *LITE* PvP Mini-Game -WIP- ***MOD ID-894416678***
Getting tired of the same old base raiding routine? Add some flair with Capture The Dodo! Similar to the Capture the Flag game modes of old but with an Ark twist.
Key Features, Important info
- 100% stackable
- Fun way to add some extra PvP action to your server. Great for events or daily extra duties!
- You can only have 1 "Home" base per tribe. Attempts to place 2nd will result in self destruction and loss of materials
- Trying to "sneak" structures into the no build radius will also result in base self destruct upon server restart, again resulting in loss of materials
- Gives 1 of 5 random items (more to come later) to all online players in tribe when Dodo is captured.
- Set your team color by hitting "Home" base with desired color paintbrush
- Each base keeps score of Dodo's it's capped (Fully interactive menu/scoreboard coming in full version)
- Dodo's have no ai, no inventory, no level ups and can not be moved by owning tribe
- Dodo's and base should be virtually indestructible.
- Some things still hurt the Dodo but it's health is ridiculously high. If it does die a new one should spawn. If not, replace "Home" base and a new one will spawn
- Dropped Dodo's will auto return to "Home" base after 30 seconds (unless picked up again)
- Your Dodo must be at "Home" or you can not capture
- Associated Dodo auto destructs when home base is removed
- "Abandoned" Dodo's (if the tribe is disbanded for some reason) will self destruct after 1 hour without a valid team
- Spawning a Dodo with admin commands will result in "Abandoned" Dodo's. Replace "Home" base to spawn a new Dodo
- Demolish timer is 5 minutes to deter unsportsman like conduct
- Admins can pick up "Home" bases
- You can not enable/disable capping if your Dodo is not at "Home"
- Disabling capping prevents any and all interaction with Dodo by anyone and also prevents you from capping other tribes Dodo's
- You should not be able to cap a tribes Dodo if none of that tribe is online. (this needs your testing)
- You can not fully enclose "Home" base inside a structure. (at least you shouldn't be able to) There is a build radius of about 4-5 foundations width
- Teams are based on tribe so any member of any tribe can steal any other tribes dodo and cap at thier own base.
Installation for dedicated server:
Same as all mods, subscribe then copy this mod's folder (894416678) and the 894416678.mod file from your ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods to your servers Mods folder and add Mod ID - 894416678 to:
GameUserSettings.ini
ActiveMods=894416678
GameUserSettings.ini Settings:
User settable variables: (These are default, change to your liking)
RewardItem=0
NoElement=0
NoFireworks=0
NoCapSounds=0
Variable Definitions
RewardItem - 0 = Randomly selects 1 of 5 items. 1 or higher = No reward
NoElement - Set to 1 to disable giving of element. Only relevant if RewardItem=0
NoFireworks - Disables "Celebration" fireworks when your tribe captures
NoCapSounds - Disables Capture/Steal message sounds. Capture/Steal messages still displays

I thought I added a .ini option to set the quantity but apparently not. Right now it is 1 quantity. Will add settable quantity to next version

This is a *LITE* version of a full blown game mode overhaul (similar to SOTF but not really) that I am currently working on.
I am releasing this to check for any major bugs and so you can test the multiplayer aspects I can not do by myself
Most of the class selection, scoreboard and loadout selector for the full version are mostly working but I want to do a lot more with them so it is not part of this version. :(
I'll post a more detailed feature list for the upcoming full version here in the next day or so.
This a PvP based mod. Probably won't work very well on PvE. Nothing in the mod itself prevents it, it's just how do stop someone from stealing your Dodo if you can't kill them? Same goes for singleplayer. Need at least 2 tribes to play.
