I'd now reccomend if you wish to have a better version of this mod look into Structures Plus ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=731604991 ).
If you're interested in a near identical copy of this mod currently being developed, look into Vaccum Sorter ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=834667662 )
I will be leaving this mod up for ease of use sake, but if you stumble upon this mod, I'd reccomend diverting your attention to the above two.

Item Sorting System adds a new storage container that when powered is able to transfer items into any storage box. This gives a way to quickly store resources and other items after successful raid or a long farming session without having to manually move items into boxes yourself.
GiveItem "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/AdvanceStorage/PrimalItemStructure_Sorter.PrimalItemStructure_Sorter'" 1 0 false
Sorting Chest
ANY Container using StructureItemContainerBaseBP (Storage Boxes, vaults, modded containers, etc..)
Suggest other inventories below.
Items are sorted into boxes that contain the same item. For example, if you have a Large Storage Box with Metal Ingots and Metal Ore, both Metal Ingots and Metal Ore will be moved to that Storage Box when you press sort. If the Storage is full, the items will be dropped on the ground
Boxes within 4000 units (13 Foundations) can be sorted to. Currently ignores box names, but may be supported in the future.
Mod Structures using StructureItemContainerBaseBP can now specify "NotSortable" in the tags to prevent the sorting chest from interacting with it.
Any container using SturctureItemContainerBaseBP will be sorted into otherwise. It's up to you to keep items where you want them.
in GameUserSettings.ini on the server. You can copy and paste this as a template
Since this is relatively powerful and removes the entire need to manage inventory once it's setup, it requires
300x Metal Ingots
40x Eelectronics
50x Cementing Paste
40x Polymer
50x Oil
Sorting Chest can be picked up and moved similar to turrets.

When Sort Item is pressed, the chest grabs a list of every container matching StructureItemContainerBaseBP (minus FuelBurners). It then Compares the first item inside the sorting chest (We'll reffer to this as MyItem) to every single container's content. If a container is found to contain MyItem, it then checks if the container has room for MyItem. if MyItem can fit, even partially, it will move whatever amount it can fit inside that container without causing it to overflow.
If MyItem cannot find a home, it's dropped on the ground to
1) Allow the chest to continue sorting.
2) Give players feedback for their item's not sorting.

Changelog: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/changelog/543828831
You cannot sort items with stats (weapons, saddles, armor, food, etc...) It will either break the sorter, or lose all of it's stats in the process. Ideally it should be dropping on the ground but it's possible items are improperly flagged in the editor causing it to not be caught by my filter.
