Platform saddles and mobile bases are pretty much the coolest thing about this game, but considering that it's a game about dinosaurs, I always thought it was kind of lame that the first dino you can get that has a platform saddle isn't a dinosaur at all, but a mammal! Paraceratherium.
Thus, I wanted to have a smaller sauropod dinosaur available to fill the same niche as the Paracer. So I added one of my favorite medium sized sauropods, Saltasaurus. It's 60% the size of a Bronto, and has all the same stats as a Paracer, except it is slightly slower and has slightly more stamina, making it great for a long-haul nomadic lifestyle. It also has the forward stomp attack of a Paracer as well as the tail swipe of its larger cousin.
The Saltasaurus was the first sauropod discovered to have such large osteoderms, or bony plates. It is theorized that these evolved to defend against attacks from large carnivores, which were more common due to Saltasaurus's smaller stature.
