If you use Dino Storage mod, which you should because it's awesome, you can add this mod to a list so upon exiting a dino soul, birds still won't fly!

Mounting a flying creature will no longer instantly cause it to take off
Description:
Prevents flyers from flying automatically when mounted.
How To:
- Find a bird.
- Mount it.
- After a second or two it will be fixed, forever-ish.
Compatibility:
- Only applies to flyers
- Should work on all mod flying creatures
- Does not touch vanilla game assets
Dino Storage Compatibility:
If you use Dino Storage mod, which you should because it's awesome, you can add this mod to a list so upon exiting a dino soul, birds still won't fly!

Notes:
- The first time mounting a bird, it will fly. After that, no more flying!
- Cryopods do break this, but again, after the first mounting, no more flying!
