COREMOD: Load before all other mods, make a new save to use it properly!
ID: 1715398379
ANNOUNCEMENT: There is a new version of this mod for those waiting for me to get back to this one! Find it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2161887962
Right now this mod is on hold because I simply don't have the time to give both it and Immersive Flight the attention they deserve. I may open-source it at some point in the near future, but that doesn't mean I won't come back to it later.
This mod does exactly what it says- it makes dinos more immersive, and aims to allow players to get more deeply attached with their scaly/furry/feathery friends, without any of the current requirements of detachment in order to breed up \'the best dino\'. It does this with buffs, so there are no new dinos or anything like that, just give your game a few minutes after starting to apply these buffs to all of the dinos.
Individual Modules will be able to be turned on and off in the config, but right now only Training is active so this is not enabled yet. Each will handle a different aspect of the player\'s interactions with their dinos.
BASIC USAGE:
-Check a dino\'s stats in various modules by using the use entry \'Check Immersion Stats\', and close this menu by right-clicking (if it won\'t let you out, try moving your mouse around and right-clicking)
Current Modules:
Training:
-Completely disables current leveling system for dinos, as far as that system is concerned all dinos are level 1 at all times.
-All stats are derived from 4 levels (instead of about 10): Vitality, Strength, Endurance, Agility
-These stats acquire xp and gain levels through use and through new training machines (unlocked at level 20)
-On spawning, dinos are given a number of bonuses/weaknesses that increase or decrease the base level of their stats, but only a little bit to give a little variation to dinos. Training is still far more important than these base levels.
-For each previous generation of dinos a new baby will get an extra bonus added, so it is beneficial to keep a line of dinos going (again, only enough to build up over time and make this preferrable, not worth spending hours grinding out generations before you start training)
Summary: Base stats are helpful, but not necessary. A poorly trained dino of superior genes will fall before your well-trained runt. This encourages players to pick a dino that they like, rather than one that has better numbers.
How to level up (Training machines unlocked at level 20):
Vitality: Take damage from other dinos, use Weights
Strength: Deal damage to other dinos, use Punching Bag
Endurance: Swimming, some gain from Running, use Treadmill
Agility: Running, some gain from Swimming, use JumpRopes
Aging (Currently disabled due to recent rework, will release once Training doesn\'t have the weird levelling bug):
-Dinos now have a lifespan based upon their size (smaller= shorter lifespan)
-Their stats, and even size, scale significantly with age (grow up to 20% larger)
-Lifespan will be affected by other factors in the future, such as how healthy the dino is
-Indicator for when a dino reaches \'Ancient\' status (will pass soon)
-A 30-second death sequence is included to allow for extra drama
Summary: Death is a natural part of the cycle of life, your dinos will eventually grow old and pass to allow the next generation room to grow.
PLANNED MODULES:
-Care (Grooming, bathing, playing, bonding with dinos, etc)
-Sleep (Diurnal, Nocturnal, Crepuscular, gain buffs from sleeping, debuffs from not sleeping, etc)
