Ashvale, a map which offers some diverse environments and dinos from the vanilla game.
The main map is pretty much complete but there are continual improvements and bug fixes rolled out regularly.
The new expansion area is still WIP, with different stages been released over a period of a few months. The mini map for the new expansion area is not yet developed so for now only the main map minimap will show.
There are continual updates and improvements that will be rolled out over time.
There are some Aberration & X-variant dinos on the map. For a full list of dinos on the map, check out the link published in the Dino List discussion below.
An erupting volcano frames up the South East corner of the map.
A space ship has crash landed near the base of the volcano. Toxic fumes, wind-swept southerly, have created a hazard zone in the region similar to the hazardous wastelands of Aberration. You’ll need a hazmat suit for that region!
There are several boss arenas on the map:
Manticore
Gorilla
Broodmother
The Spider arena is a floating island and is visible from within the world and has viewing platforms surrounding it.
The boss tributes have been reworked and therefore require a different set of tributes than the standard vanilla maps.
The tribute artifacts for each boss can be located at shrines across the map. Turn up the in-game music around the shrines ;)
The trophy loot has also been reworked.
Each boss now drops more element than vanilla:
Gamma - 150 Element
Beta - 300 Element
Alpha - 500 Element
Additionally, each obelisk terminal will have access to only one designated boss.
Blue Obelisk - Spider arena
Green Obelisk - Manticore arena
Red Obelisk - Gorilla arena
Aliens from the crashed ship have placed a pair of teleporters at each Obelisk in order to travel between them more easily. Each teleporter is colour coded to the destination terminal.
Survivors can travel freely through the teleporters, as well as ridden dinos. Non-ridden dinos will not teleport through (EG: dinos on follow)
Coral Reefs line the ocean embankments, with lots to explore as well as a couple high level lootcrates hidden amongst the corals.
The map is similar in size to TheIsland map or around 45km².
The new expansion area will be around 40km² once complete.
As always, the beaches are generally the safest place to start off!
