Tired of gigas and quetzals making every other mount obsolete? Wish you had a reason to actually use that raptor you’ve been so fond of since you started playing? Well then this might be the mod for you!
Balance Evolved is a mod that aims to create a more varied and versatile gameplay experience by completely rebalancing the game and giving each creature its own niche. This is done by strongly emphasizing on each creatures intended strengths and weaknesses. For example; a raptor is meant to be fast and deadly, but fragile. Therefore, it can both outrun and outdamage a sabertooth. However, due to the sabertooths almost as high damage and much higher health pool, if pitched against each other the sabertooth will win almost every time.
The main goal of Balance Evolved is to create a richer and overall more enjoyable PvP experience, however it does affect PvE as well. For example; creatures no longer have different speeds depending on if they are tamed or not, so early levels might be a bit more challenging as you can no longer simply outrun most predators. On the other hand though, early game tames like Dilos and Parasaurs are now much more useful than they were previously, simultaneously giving you more powerful tools to deal with these new threats in the wild.
These changes are applied to everything as soon as the mod is activated, including already tamed creatures, so there's no need for a server wipe or something similar in order for the mod to work! If you install the mod and then change your mind later about using it, simply uninstalling it will cause all tamed creatures (and other things) to go back to their default values.
To cheatspawn dinos with this mod, simply use the normal "summon DinoTag_character_bp_c" command, or if you want a specific level, the following:
SpawnDino "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/BalanceEvolved/Creatures/DinoTag/DinoTag_Character_BP.DinoTag_Character_BP'" 500 1 1 1
So for example, to spawn a level 9001 spino, you use;
SpawnDino "Blueprint'/Game/Mods/BalanceEvolved/Creatures/Spino/Spino_Character_BP.Spino_Character_BP'" 500 1 1 9001
Cheatspawning a dino with its regular full-path command will cause it to spawn with its base-game values, and then switch to Balance Evolved values once the server/session is restarted.
My goal is to eventually cover the entire game, from items to crafting costs and taming timers. Feedback and suggestions are always appreciated, as this mod is very much a work-in-progress!
If you have a server that runs this mod in particular, I would very much appreciate if you could private message me so I can get your contact info. Being able to check with server admins now and then on how the mod is playing out would help a lot with improvements in the future!
