Damn them! Damn them all to hell!
This the standalone version of the Better Gigantopithicus from my Better Dinos mod. If you already have that mod there is no need to also have this one.
Do you love the Gigantopithicus? But on the same hand, are you completely underwhelmed by how, umm, not very good they are?
I have fond memories of Giganto's, back in the days when a tamed raptor could shred anything on two or four legs, and all this was just fields, I rocked around on a giant ape as my main mount and together we had many hi jinks and adventures. These days however, they're just not that great. Their main draw from those halcyon days was that they were pretty much the only thing that could gather fiber, they were strong and agile for their size. But nowadays they've been completely usurped in pretty much every one of their roles by newer, shinier creatures, especially considering the fact that they need Titanoboa kibble to perfect tame (easier to get hold of these days, but still!)
Well, this mod intends to address that, in style! Let's make the Great Apes great again!
On installing this mod all Gigantos, tamed and wild will be upgraded to a newer, a better ape about town for the new millenium.
* Ape Armour! Yep, they can still wear helmets, but that can now be supplemented by a snazzy shield and breastplate combo. Crafted in the players inventory, the Ape Armour costs 80 Metal Ingots, 40 Hide and 100 Fiber to craft. It will provide the usual 25 saddle armour. This is available to craft from level 56, and costs 25 Engram points.

* Weapon Wielding! Yes, your ape can now become a swiss army knife without all the creepy weirdness of giant bugs with tools. Tool your buddy up with a hatchet, a pick, a pike, a sword, a club or a sickle and let him or her go ham on whatever the situation presents (note that using a sickle will not gather fiber, but will happily harvest fish)
* Kong mode, engage! Take a peek into your engrams list, and you'll see an engram of a new item that you can craft. An Oil Drum. What's this for I hear you ask? Convenient petroleum storage? A jammin' jamaican style street party? Easy hobo hand warming facilities?
No you idiot, it's for throwing at things! Craft the barrels up (5 metal ingots, 15 Oil, 10 Sparkpowder) Put your ape into turret mode, stick him on aggresive, and laugh as he rains firey death down upon your foes. The barrels do explosive damage with a fair sized AoE and knockback. Not a massive range though, so treat them as your last line of defence, and bear in mind that if your ape runs out of barrels he will no longer be able to attack untill the enemy gets close enough for him to punch!

* Barrel o' Monkeys! You can also craft Barrels of Monkeys in the same way as Oil Barrels, these are a cheaper barrel to toss costing 10 wood, 20 thatch, and 10 hide (most of that is stuffing to keep the monkeys comfortable) These have a longer range than the Oil Barrels, but do considerably less instant damage. Each barrel though will unleash a family of poop flinging mini apes who are mad as hell, and yours to keep, for the entire 30 seconds of their lives!

Important note!
With the addition of the Monkey Barrel, you must select which ammo you want your ape to use from the radial menu Bigfoot Options section, either Monkey Barrel, or Oil Barrel. You can now also quickly enable Turret mode and Aggresive from this menu with the Quick Turret Mode option.If this all sounds awfully violent to you, then don't worry, because your ape also has a more serene, peaceful side. The apes are quite partial to a bit of gardening. Not only does using your apes melee attack without a weapon on a berry bush yield a small chance of gathering you a citronal or a longrass or 2, but park an ape near to some crop plots containing any veggie crops, narcoberries, or stimberries, engage Gardening Mode from the radial menu, and he will quite happily stand there and every five minutes or so collect crops from all crop plots in range provided he has enough room in his inventory without getting over burdened. They will also provide a longer spoiling time to veggie crops (8x as opposed to the regular 4x)
ABERRATION: Now has full support for the Aberrant Bigfoot!
The mod does remap the vanilla Bigfoot, so if you have any other mods that do the same, remember that in your load order, as in life, whichever is on top is in control. Removing this mod will simply revert Gigantos back to their less bad ass vanilla selves, obviously any of the crafted items, ape armour and Oil Barrels will be removed entirely. It is recommended that if you are removing this mod, ensure that you unequip any weapons that your Gigantos are currently holding, just in case.
